Cognitive Behaviour Testimonials
Suzanne’s experience of Cognitive Behaviour Hypnotherapy
The therapy I had with Johan was cognitive behavioural therapy combined with hypnotherapy. I had years of bad beliefs about myself and thought I was uncurable. Johan made me feel right at ease from the very first session. I saw improvements very quickly and the relaxation techniques given to me helped my mood and realeased a lot of anger. After 6 sessions I walked away feeling totally in control of my thinking and reactions to a situation. It has been the best money spent ever. I cannot thank Johan enough. A wonderful therapist and would highly reccommend to all. I can now look forward to the future and have since enroled myself in a psychology course as I found it all very interesting. Thank you ever so much!

I contacted Johan after reading about Cognitive Behaviour Hypnotherapy on her website. I was not sure which therapy to go for. I had heard of Cognitive Behaviour and knew a bit about hypnosis, but had never seen them combined, so I thought this would be ideal for me. I have had very low self esteem ever since I could remember and did not think it could be overcome, but I was open to the therapy. Johan was very welcoming and warm. She made me feel at ease straight away. The first session was very relaxing. At further sessions Johan helped me identify my unhealthy beliefs. I had never looked at things this way before. I soon noticed changes and began to be able to deal better with situations that used to terrify me. At the end of the six sessions I felt loads better. What I found great was that I was really involved and very proactive and carried out relevant tasks between sessions. I was given CDs to listen to between sessions and that really helped too. I think it is a fantastic therapy that really gets results. I can highly recommend it to anyone who really wants to change their life!

When I came for therapy my aim was to understand my mind better. I also wanted to be able to go out for a night out and not over drink and I wanted to be able to remember my night out.
Included in the cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy course are CDS, one for motivation and reaching goals and the others are more directly linked to the therapy.
I listened to my motivational CD every day and I felt better after listening to it.
The therapy helped me uncover why I was drinking too much and it turned out that I feared being judged negatively and I drank too much to suppress this feeling
The next step was to create a healthy belief and really reinforce that with the other CDs and also when in a difficult situation and Johan helped me do that.
The therapy involved me challenging myself which I did, in that I restricted my alcohol intake, while reinforcing the healthy belief .
Johan also recommended a book by Windy Dryden called Ten Steps to Healthy Living which I found useful.
I felt that therapy helped me to be more in control of my drinking and to feel better about myself
