Ways to do the course
One to one private sessions consists of four , one and half hour sessions and one 1 hour session You can schedule times and dates to suit you. Total cost of course £275
You and a friend or partner may do the course together. The course consists of 4 sessions each lasting approx one and half hours. You can schedule times and dates to suit you. :Total cost of the course £175 each.
A group of friends , colleagues or family could do the course together. Total cost of the course £150 each.
All courses include several CDS and all notes plus a further one hour session approx one month after you complete the course.
After that you can receive a motivational monthly one hour session costing £20.
Terms and conditions of payments
To book sessions contact today to arrange first session. Once this has been arranged all you need to do to confirm your session is to pay £50 deposit below
Balance is due in either cash or cheque at the first session.
48 hours notice of cancellation is required. If 48 hours notice is not given deposit will not be refunded. If you do not attend appointment deposit will not be refunded.
Once we receive the deposit a booking form will be sent to you which must be filled in and e-mailed back to us within 2 days of receiving it.
There is such a demand for appointments that the session will only be held for 2 days until we receive your deposit and also the booking form.
Johan as well as being a very experienced hypnotherapist also has personal experience of weight problems. She has had a weight problem since she was about 16 years of age and it is only with the help of this programme that she has gained control over her weight and no longer obsesses about weight and food. She also has the added problem of an under active thyroid , but after a short time dwelling on that and thinking she could not lose weight , she realised she could do something about it and changed her beliefs and with the help of hypnotherapy only now eats for hunger and for no other reason.
Agenda for the course
The first session looks at setting goals and looking at your particular unhealthy beliefs related to food
It involves looking at healthy eating, but this is not a diet. My aim is to help you eat only when hungry and stop when full…..easy to say…not always easy to do….hypnotherapy really helps with this
2nd session looks at changing your beliefs to healthy beliefs …….ways we can sabotage and how to overcome this …..ways to value yourself more. you will be taught self hypnosis..hypnotherapy for habit change
3rd session looks at strengthening your healthy beliefs……..we look at assertiveness training in relation to food and the gastric band hypnosis is done in this session if you have made changes to your weight and habits
4th session looks at stress management in relation to food habits…We look at hypnotherapy to balance the part of you that wants to lose weight and the part that perhaps wants comfort from food now
5th session is held 3 to 4 weeks after the 4th session
This is a motivational session
Sessions are informal and relaxed
After the gastric band session you will be able to eat normal foods but you would eat smaller portions .

- HEALTHY EATING based on the Glycemic index ,eating foods that stay longer in your system, helping you to feel full for longer
- THE GLYCEMIC INDEX measures the speed the body converts carbohydrates to glucose, your body’s energy resource. The quicker the food breaks down, the higher the number on the index. The index sets glucose at 100 and scores food in relation to that number. Eating foods with a high rating increases the production of insulin which results in a drop in blood sugar levels and the body then demands more food to boost the sugar levels and the food is more likely to be stored as fat. Eating foods that are low on the index helps your blood sugar levels to be stable and you avoid the cravings and mood swings associated with fluctuating blood sugar levels.

What part do unhealthy beliefs play in failure to lose weight?
Unhealthy beliefs can sabotage a healthy eating programme. Typical unhealthy beliefs that can surface are as follows:
- I must clear my plate, if I don’t I can’t stand it!
- I must not waste food!
- I must be full and totally satisfied, if I am not full, I can’t stand it!
- I must be comfortable all the time!
- When I am bored, I must eat, if I can’t eat when bored, I can’t bear it!

Why diets don’t work
Many people go on diets expecting a quick fix. Lose weight for that wedding, summer, Christmas etc. Extremes in dieting can be dangerous and you lose muscle as well as fat, so that when you eat normally there is not enough muscle to burn off the same amount of calories as before, hence weight gain.
In fact they should be looking at the longer picture, a new way of life that can be followed easily, no extremes, no starve binge cycle.
Many diets do not look at the person as a whole. They only address the dietary issue and the quick fix dramatic weight loss that may not be healthy.
Self worth and weight
Many people with weight problems have issues related to self esteem and self worth. They are very critical of themselves. They often comfort eat to anaesthetise any negative feeling they have about themselves.
Separating moods from foods
Many diets only look at the dietary issues. They do not look at the feelings associated with the foods. Hypnosis can separate the moods from the foods. It seeks to release the associations that some people have with food. I am upset, so I will eat. I am angry so I will eat. It dulls the pain, but that is only short lived and then the guilt feelings start and the low opinion of yourself only gets worse and you need to comfort eat again. The person with the weight problem indeed has a thin part and a fat part (Your mini me fat person inside and your mini-me thin person) and at any one time, whichever one is strongest wins the battle. Hypnotherapy and cognitive techniques aim to integrate the two parts to have a balance and to have moderation in your life.
